Dear West River Sailing Club Members,
I invite each of you to attend and participate in the General Membership meeting scheduled for 2:00 PM on 17 November in the WRSC Clubhouse.
As I have mentioned several times in my Newsletter column, this is a very important meeting for the future of the Club and it is an opportunity for you to help shape that future. While we will entertain other motions, the principal agenda items will be:
- A motion to raise the annual dues and other fees, and
- A motion to approve a new slate of Club officers.
Our operating costs continue to increase and we have not had a proportional dues increase in several years. The Board is proposing an increase in the annual membership dues. A gradual increase is vital to allow us to sustain our current level of support both to the General Membership and also to our racing fleets and school.
In 2019 the Board is proposing the following:
- Dues: a 12% increase
- Boat parking: a 5% increase
- Fees for Shared Boat, Learn to Sail, and Sailing School: a 10% increase
We also will propose a new slate of Club officers. This new slate of officers will be key to determining the direction of the Club and implementing that vision.
Please come to the meeting and share your thoughts about these motions.

Also, November 10 is Fall Cleanup Day. Please come to the club to prepare for winter.
